Forgive you.These words spoken by Amon Goethe (Ralph Fiennes) for the film can be judiciously used to describe the themes in this movie: power and forgiveness.I part of which was so lucky not to live a major war post-war generation. And after seeing this film, I have a deep respect and affection for those who suffered in those moments, whether the Holocaust or war Nam. This film was just waiting to be done, and I'm glad he was the man who dared to challenge. Anyone else would not have done justice.The film focuses on how a German named Oskar Schindler saved the lives of thousands of Jews using them to work in his factory during the Second World War. But I think the main movie goal is not to show us the goodness of Schindler, but the horrors of war. There are some of the truest and graphics here ever captured on film scenes. People get shot for no particular reason, hiding in fear, stripped and gassed, abused ...... so that viewers see For the first , re both will be deeply affected. We never got to see the return of war in many Hollywood productions that focuses solely on action and their heroes Gung-ho unrealistic. (Another great film would be Spielberg Saving Pte Ryan again) war and its horrors are final and recreated for the film Raging Bull audience.Like his shot beautifully in black and white to reflect the time and tone of the film. Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes are excellent, esp the latter for his intimidating protrayal Amon Goethe. The scene where they discuss power is a classic and after that where Amon forgive a young Jew remains as one of my many favs! |
